Dr. Shelly Whitehurst grew up in Roanoke, VA. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of William and Mary, after which she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked as an ICU technician in the large animal hospital both before and during vet school. Her veterinary interests include emergency medicine, ophthalmology and lameness. In her spare time, she enjoys running, weightlifting, and trail riding. After her internship, she would like to pursue a career in equine private practice.
Update on Shelly- she is currently working as an Associate Veterinarian at Highland Animal Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.
