Dr. Sarah Dukti DACVS, DACVECC joined The Piedmont Equine Practice on June 1, 2011. Dr. Dukti is supporting the expansion of surgery, emergency and critical care, and other services offered by the practice, and will be instrumental in the continued growth of Piedmont Equine.
Dr. Dukti is well established as an equine surgeon and emergency and critical care specialist and has the honor of being a Large Animal Diplomat of both the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, currently the only veterinarian to hold that title in the state of Virginia. She received her veterinary training at the Ohio State University, followed by an internship at Rood and Riddle in Lexington, Ky and both surgery and critical care residencies at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. Bringing a wide spectrum of experience to the practice, Dr. Dukti has performed surgery and managed emergency critical care cases in both private practice and in a university setting. During that time, Dr. Dukti has been published in veterinary journals, presented at national meetings, trained veterinary students, interns, and residents, and received numerous teaching awards and recognition.
