Kristina Peacock

Kristina Peacock grew up right next door in Haymarket, VA. She began riding horses at the age of 11 and bought her first at 13. She continued riding for fun until she started her undergraduate career at Virginia Tech, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences and competed for the Virginia Tech Hunter Equitation Team. During this time, she juggled a sport horse breeding internship at the MARE Center in Middleburg and acted as the VT Equestrian Club President. Before veterinary school, Krissy worked as an equine nurse at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center. She apparently couldn’t get enough of Blacksburg and headed back south to attend the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. During vet school, she continued riding regularly and was active in several clubs, including participation as President of both the American Association of Equine Practitioners and Virginia Veterinary Medical Association Student Chapters.

Krissy is thrilled to be back home, and to join the Piedmont Equine team. She strives to gain advanced training in equine medicine throughout her year as a veterinary intern. While Krissy loves all facets of equine medicine, she is particularly interested in sports medicine, regenerative therapies and wound management. In her free time, Dr. Peacock loves riding her retired Virginia Tech horse, Impulse. She also enjoys running and hiking with her dog Laney, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
