Christy Moore grew up in Fairfax, VA and began riding horses at the age of 8. She competed locally in dressage shows until graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School. Christy attended William and Mary for her undergraduate studies where she rode hunter/jumpers with the Equestrian Club and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. During her time at William and Mary, Christy was heavily involved in research and even published a paper on Australian zebra finches.
After her undergraduate studies, Christy ventured north to attend Cornell for vet school. She continued to ride during vet school, despite the busy schedule, by leasing horses from older students. She also continued to be involved in research, this time with her favorite animal species. She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine with Distinction in May 2018 and is so happy to be back in her home state of VA for her internship at Piedmont! In her free time, Christy likes to hike, do yoga, visit wineries, and go trail riding on the battlefields.
