Dr. Alisa Corser grew up in the small town of Clermont, Florida, where she began trading barn chores for riding lessons at an early age. While in high school and college she spent her afternoons and weekends as a working student at a combined training barn in Ocala. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology from the University of Florida in 2008, and remained in Gainesville to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. While in Gainesville, Alisa worked as a technician in UF’s large animal hospital and small animal cardiology service. Alisa also participated in two research projects (neonatal sepsis and gastrtointestinal kinetics) and served as the President for the student chapter of AAEP.
Her special interests include sports medicine, foals and emergency medicine. After completing her internship, Alisa hopes to pursue a career in equine sports medicine and work at various shows internationally. In her spare time, Alisa enjoys spending time in the saddle, hiking with her pointer mix Cooper, and spoiling her cat, Thomas.
Update on Dr. Corser- she and her cat Thomas are off to New Zealand for a very exciting job!
