Dr. Paul Diehl grew up in Strasburg, Virginia where he acquired his first horse at the age of 11. As a teenager his family moved to Loudoun County which has remained his home ever since. Dr. Diehl received his bachelor degree in biology from Virginia Tech and earned his veterinary degree from Auburn University in 1983.
Paul’s veterinary career started at Mayo and Rofe Equine Clinic in 1984 where his practice focused on broodmares, race horses, foxhunters, eventers and pleasure horses. In 2003, he joined The Piedmont Equine Practice, where he focuses on reproduction and sport horses, his areas of special interest. Dr. Diehl has continued to further his education in lameness and detailed ultrasound of the equine limb. He also plans to be certified in acupuncture in 2019.
Dr. Diehl’s hobbies include triathlons, riding, golf, fishing, shooting, yoga and scuba diving. In 2004, he completed the Ironman Competition in New Zealand.
