We see ALMOST everything…. dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, sugar gliders, snakes…  No one has ever brought us fish, or bees, or ay weird insects – but we’d be willing.  We do wildlife rescue work with Sea Biscuit Wildlife Rescue and  in association with a licensed wildlife rehab specialiss.  We do not normally provide services for large animals (but goats have been known to roam our hallways) – so no horses. And we do not see primates. 

We choose products based on research, effectiveness and patient needs.  What we don’t carry is available through our online pharmacy, through a local (human) pharmacy, or through one of our compounding pharmacy partners (these pharmacies make medications on an individual basis for your pet).  We offer a complete line of Royal Canin and some Purina prescription diets and exclusive retail foods. We also offer a wide variety of high quality supplements.

We understand that animal emergencies can and do occur outside of normal business hours. To that end, we have a relationship with the Animal Emergency and Trauma Hospital of Wilmington to provide emergency care for our patients when we are not available.  We also offer limited after hours and emergency care based on availability of the doctor and staff.   Please see our Emergency and After Hours Care link for more details or contact Animal Emergency and Trauma Hospital of Wilmington at 910-791-7387.

We understand that. Dont these things always seem to happen at the worst time??  Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.  We are always accepting new clients, and indeed have several that have an “at home” vet for their primary residence but consider us their “beach vet” while vacationing in the Southport, Oak Island, and Bald Head Island area.  Feel free to contact us and we will do our best to fit you into our schedule.

Our local area presents some particularly interesting challenges when it comes to internal and external parasites.  We offer a complete line of flea, tick and other parasite treatment and prevention products.  We also work closely with local vendors as often a three-pronged approach to treating your house, your pet, and your environment is necessary.  Contact us to schedule an appointment to discuss what will work best for you and your pet.

We probably see more skin and ear problems than anything else.  Whether this is a one-time issue or something long standing, we can help!  Some of our most cutting edge treatments and food are designed to help skin, and we will work with you to find a longterm solution.
