Boarding

For established clients we have the facilities to provide your pet with a comfortable stay while you are away. We will feed any specialized or prescriptive diets that may be required as well as medicate any animals as needed.

You will have the added benefit of knowing that if your animal experiences any illness while you’re away, it will be promptly and competently addressed by one of our clinicians.

Our Kennel personnel are very competent and experienced. They are very observant and promptly report any abnormal behavior to our lead veterinary technician who then asks a doctor to examine the animal and prescribe the appropriate treatment. All these things are noted in the patient record. Our kennel personnel are instructed to report things such as any indication of pain, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing or sneezing, abnormal appearing urine, blood in urine or feces and reluctance to eat. Minor problems are treated without notifying the owner while more serious issues are promptly reported to the owner by phone, email or text message, or whatever method the owner indicates when they leave the pet with us.

Our boarding guest are routinely feed once daily Science Diet food dry and/or canned. They are given access to the exercise yard three times daily and more often if needed. Our kennel personnel are happy to follow your specific instructions regarding feeding and exercise. However, the owner must give us specific written instructions so attendants working different shifts will know about these instructions. It is perfectly acceptable to bring your pets own food if you wish as well as a bed, blanket or toy to make your pet feel more at home. All of our boarding cages have an elevated mesh floor for comfort and in case of accidents. We routinely use large bath towels for bedding which are washed and sanitized following use.

Please note that for your pet’s safety and health all boarders must be current (within the past 12-months) on vaccinations for parvo, distemper, rabies, para-influenza and bordatella (kennel cough). If your pet needs vaccinations, please get this done one week or more prior to boarding so these preventative shots will have become effective.

Our feline boarders also need to be vaccinated against rabies, feline respiratory disease complex and feline leukemia and immuno deficiency virus. All dogs and cats should be free of fleas and ticks when they arrive and, if necessary, we can take appropriate measures to rid your pet of these parasites. This is for the comfort and good health of your own pet as well as the protection of our other guest.
