Dr. Heather Fraser & Dr. Carolyn Walsh

Dr. Carolyn Walsh, DVM

Dr. Carolyn Walsh studied Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and then moved to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed her veterinary degree in 2001. Her next move was to Williams Lake BC which was to be a temporary stop, and spent 14 years in the Cariboo. During those years I enjoyed mixed animal veterinary practice in several practices across northern BC, which has provided me a broad background of experiences. My most my memorable adventures were providing veterinary services to remote regions of Bella Coola & Chilcotin region for 15 years, where I was able to explore some amazing regions of BC and meet many superb families and their animal companions. Her passions are preventative care such that our pets live their best quality of life, internal medicine, soft tissue & orthopedic surgery and dentistry. When not at the veterinary hospital Dr. Walsh is busy with her 2 children and enjoys her time skiing, hiking and equine events with her horse Indy, our chocolate Labrador “Monty”, cat “Sergeant Tibbs” and a few backyard chickens.

Dr. Heather Fraser, DVM

Dr Fraser has spent most of her life in the Thompson Nicola Region. Heather was raised on a family farm near Barriere, attended University at The University College of the Cariboo (now TRU) and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan’s Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation Dr. Fraser worked in mixed animal practice in Williams Lake and as a relief Veterinarian throughout the province before settling back in Kamloops. While in Kamloops Heather’s focus has been on small animal care both in practice and as a faculty member teaching at TRU. Her areas of interest include wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Fraser resides just east of the city and with her family that includes her husband, two kids, two dogs and two cats. When things aren’t wild enough at home, she enjoys packing up the family, all their camping gear and heading off on a river rafting adventure.
