Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Loree graduated from the University College Dublin in Ireland, and was thrilled to join the team at Huntsville Animal Hospital soon after. It wasn’t a difficult decision as she spent many years volunteering as a veterinary assistant at the clinic prior to and during schooling, and was lucky enough to spend her summers in the area at her family cottage. Sarah was born and raised in Toronto but considers Muskoka “home”.
The road to veterinary medicine was not a clear one. Sarah initially completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with concentrations in Finance and Marketing at McGill University in Montreal. She then traveled extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia. Upon her return, Sarah spent some time working in the industry, but realized while volunteering as a dog walker at the local humane society during her spare time, that veterinary medicine was something she needed to pursue as a lifelong career, and she has not looked back since!
The areas of veterinary medicine that Sarah most enjoys are oncology, internal medicine, and the importance of annual wellness examinations.
Sarah has a miniature poodle mix named Sophie and an orange tabby DSH named Oliver. The newest addition to her family is an Irish Setter named Molly Malone; an ode to her 4 years in Dublin!
Her interests include hiking in Algonquin Park with her dogs, traveling (33 countries to date!), golfing, kayaking, cooking and entertaining.
