Veterinarian
Dr Dominique Solecki graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009 after completing a Life Science degree at Queen’s University in Kingston. Since graduation, she has been practising small animal medicine in Ontario, Boston, Massachusetts and most recently has just moved from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born a city girl in Toronto, she made the move to Huntsville in search of “crickets”. She is very much looking forward to exploring the many outdoor activities available in Muskoka during all 4 seasons.
Dominique particularly enjoys internal medicine and dermatology, especially during allergy season in cottage country!
Dominique and her husband have a dog named Finnegan who is an SPCA stray from Cape Breton, who is also learning how to be a country dog. They also have 3 cats: Kiwi, Peacock and their most recent addition, Lt. Dan. Lt. Dan was a patient who was meant to recuperate over the course of a weekend but has not left since. A serious injury leading to amputation of one back leg and partial amputation of the other back leg hasn’t slowed him down. He races the dog down the hall for food and has no problems clambering into bed in the mornings. He is a daily reminder of how resilient animals are and how important it is to love life.
Dominique is also a ballet dancer, volleyball player (despite her short stature) and has recently grown to love aerial silks during the last two years of classes at Atlantic Cirque.
