Tibial Tuberosity Advancement Surgery

“Brandy”, a super sweet 9 year old shepherd mix, was favouring her hind leg off and on for a few months and suddenly became very sore and refused to use her leg for weight-bearing.

Radiographs and an exam revealed she had torn her cruciate ligament, an important stabilizing ligament of the knee. Dr Jason performed a Tibial Tuberosity Advancement surgery. This surgery provides immediate stability and is considered the “gold standard” of care for cruciate ligament injuries because it allows for extremely rapid recovery and use of the affected limb. It is also the most ideal surgery to regain optimal function and strength of the affected leg. At only 3 weeks post-operatively, Brandy is walking and using her leg normally.
