What does a Laser treatment look like?

The great thing about laser treatments is that there is no need for sedation or restraint, or hair clipping.  Your pet will be resting on a table as they receive treatment. The only thing your pet feels is a warm heat that moves over the area being treated in a patterned fashion. Improvement is often seen after the first visit, and most patients are treated for 3-8 visits, depending on the issue being treated.  Treatments are typically no more than 10 minutes long for a single area, but may be a bit longer for multiple areas being treated.  A majority of pets exhibit greater mobility within 12-24 hours after a laser treatment.  Often a pet will quickly exhibit renewed energy and freedom of movement, which may require you to monitor them with caution to insure that they do not aggravate their now healing injury.Class IV Laser treatment are cumulative in nature, thus the length and frequency of treatments varies with you pets condition.

What does the Class IV Laser actually do?

During each painless treatment, laser energy  increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area.  This creates the optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness, and pain.  As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.

On a cellular level the infrared laser light interacts with tissues causing metabolic activity to increase within the cell, improving the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane.  This initiates the increased production of cellular energy that leads to a cascade of beneficial effects, increasing cellular function and heath.
